ENERGENIUS – LevEraging the eNergy transition by gamifiEd learning and AI, guided by cRoss sectoral integrated sErvices and digital twiN models to foster accessIble and human-centered energy Saving experiences
PROGRAMME: EU Horizon Europe
ABSTRACT:
The ENERGENIUS project is a Horizon Europe project designed to transform how citizens, businesses, and communities interact with energy. By leveraging digital tools, AI-driven insights, gamification, and cross-sector innovation, it makes energy management simple, engaging, and beneficial for everyone, striving to achieve democracy in the energy transition.
The ENERGENIUS project aims to develop a comprehensive platform to establish an ecosystem that integrates advanced and complete digital tools and services, inspiring and equipping citizens for the energy transition. ENERGENIUS promotes a culture of sustainability, inclusion, and energy-efficient living, translating knowledge from various cross-sectoral fields into enriched user experiences. Through the platform, citizens increase their involvement in improving building energy efficiency, while public institutions and energy communities can identify potential improvements in their housing stock. The developed tools provide information on the best financing for actions, study how to improve current energy performance contracts (including comfort and demand response mechanisms), and give citizens the necessary tools to understand how their homes consume energy and how they can reduce consumption. ENERGENIUS has a budget of €5.2 million (co-financed by the EU under the Horizon Europe program). With a duration of 42 months and a consortium of 17 partners, coordinated by MIW (MY ENERGIA ONER SL), the project is validated in 10 demonstrators in Switzerland, Romania, Greece, Spain, Serbia, Germany, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Estonia, and Italy.
