NEMO – LANGUAGE MODULES DEVELOPMENT

NEMO es un proyecto financiado por el Fondo Europeo de Defensa (EDF) que desarrolla un sistema capaz de utilizar diversas Tecnologías del Lenguaje Humano (HLT). Estas incluyen el reconocimiento de voz, el reconocimiento de documentos manuscritos e impresos, la detección de palabras clave, la recuperación de información, el análisis semántico, el reconocimiento de entidades nombradas, la generación de resúmenes y la traducción automática a todos los idiomas oficiales de la UE.

El sistema se presenta en forma de un demostrador adaptado a las necesidades del sector de la defensa. Para ello, las funcionalidades desarrolladas se ajustan al dominio militar, permitiendo procesar terminología específica del ámbito de la defensa y sus correspondientes significados.

PROGRAMME: European Defence Fund EDF

ABSTRACT:

NEMO develops a system to perform a variety of HLTs including speech recognition, handwritten and printed documents recognition, keywords spotting, information retrieval, semantic analysis, named entity recognition, summarisation, and translation to all official EU languages. The system has the form of a demonstrator and is tailored on the needs of the defence sector. These functionalities are adapted to the defence domain enabling them to deal with military-specific vocabulary and related semantics. NEMO has a budget of 5,98 M€ (funded by the EU under the EDF programme). It has a duration of 60 months and the consortium working on it is formed by 14 partners, under the coordination of SINTEF AS.
