TRINITY – TRansmission system enhancement of regIoNal borders by means of IntellIgenT market technologY.

Uno de los principales desafíos al que se enfrenta la Unión Europea (UE) hoy en día es la adopción de un mercado eléctrico unificado. Aunque las regiones occidental y septentrional de la UE han estado trabajando durante años para alcanzar este objetivo, el sudeste de Europa (SEE) no ha seguido la misma hoja de ruta y no ha avanzado tanto en este campo como el resto de Europa.

El proyecto TRINITY abordará este desafío para mejorar la situación actual y facilitar la interconexión de los mercados de electricidad del sudeste europeo.

Para alcanzar este objetivo, TRINITY desarrollará un conjunto de soluciones tecnológicas para mejorar la cooperación entre los operadores de transmisión eléctrica de SEE con el fin de apoyar la integración de los mercados de electricidad en la región, al tiempo que promueve una mayor penetración de energías limpias.

ABSTRACT:

One of the main challenges that the EU is facing nowadays, is the adoption of a single and unified electricity market. Although the Western and Northern regions of the EU have been working for several years towards reaching such objective, the South-Eastern region of Europe has not followed the same roadmap and it not as advanced in this field as Western Europe.

TRINITY project will address this challenge in order to improve the current situation and facilitate the interconnection of South-Eastern electricity markets.

To reach this goal, TRINITY will develop a set of solutions to enhance cooperation among the transmission system operators of SEE in order to support the integration of the electricity markets in the region, whilst promoting higher penetration of clean energies.
