ENERGY EFFICIENCY LIGHTING PROJECT MARITZA MINES

Supply and installation of industrial luminaires with LED technology for the improvement of the energy efficiency of the heavy machinery lighting in the mines.

Mini Maritsa Iztok EAD is the largest coal mining company of the Republic of Bulgaria. It operates the Maritsa Iztok lignite field and is of great strategic importance in the countries energy efficiency balance.

The employer Maritza Orient Mines EAD “Mini Maritza Iztok”, intends to apply the funds provided by the “International Support Fund for the Dismantling of Kozloduy (Kids Fund), managed by the Reconstruction and Development European Bank (EBRD), its own financial resources for the rehabilitation cost (design, supply and installation) of the industrial lighting through replacement of LED lighting in the Maritza East EAD mines, Bulgaria (Batch B).

The complex is composed of three mines or exploitation fronts:

  • TROYANOVO-1 MINE
  • TROYANOVO-3 MINE
  • TROYANOVO-NORTH MINE

Two types of luminaires to install:

  • Group A: Industrial LED technology lighting with a capacity of 120W and a luminous flux of 12,700 lm
  • Group B: Industrial LED technology lighting with a 30W power and a luminous flux of 3,700 lm

The total number of luminaires to install are 5,000 of which 3,000 are of type A and 2,000 are type B.
The expected reduction of installed power that these actions can achieve, is more than 53%
