SMART CLIMATE AGRI-PV- Inteligencia artificial, teledetección y drones para soluciones Agrovoltaicas

PROGRAMME: AEIs (Agrupaciones de Empresas Innovadoras)

ABSTRACT:

The main objective of the SMART CLIMATE AGRI-PV project is the development of a new expert system that makes use of artificial intelligence and drone-based remote sensing technology to optimize crop production, specifically sub-tropical crops (Pitaya) and Mediterranean (fig tree).

The project investigates the use of agrovoltaic systems, which consist of the optimal integration of agronomic systems with photovoltaic systems. The objective is to obtain a more intelligent and competitive crop production model through the application of new technologies in agriculture. The validation takes place in the municipality of Picassent (Valencia), in a greenhouse configuration with a fixed position of the photovoltaic panels, which allow the generation of a microclimate that favours the growth of crops, to combat the effects of climate change, as well as to improve their quality and productivity.

SMART CLIMATE AGRI-PV has a budget of €350,672.00, co-financed by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism within the framework of the Support for Innovative Business Groups – AEI program. The consortium is made up of 5 Spanish partners, under the coordination of the Energy Cluster of the Valencian Community.

This project is part of the call from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism for Innovative Business Groups with the aim of improving the competitiveness of SMEs within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, file number AEI-010500-2022b -230.
