ABSTRACT:

SIMON aims at promoting the independent living and societal participation of mobility impaired people. We have adapted mobility infrastructures in cities to improve the daily experience of older and impaired users, furthermore we use information about accessibility in public transport to support in the planning of everyday trips and also considers multimodal navigation (walk, private car, public transportation). Finally we propose the use of a new ICT-enhanced parking card for disabled people, based on the existing EU parking card, which allows the user to authenticate when parking in reserved places. These solutions require extensive integration of multiple databases with dedicated personal information. Thus, an additional challenge assumed by the project is the instantiation of a proven methodology for data privacy preservation. Fighting fraud and access-right management solutions are proposed, in a context where Inclusive Mobility is understood as a step forward in smart cities.
