On Thursday, June 23, the demonstration of the “Emergencias 4.0” use case implemented by the ETRA group together with Orange and Huawei took place. The pilot project has been carried out in an Advanced Command Post for the Generalitat Valenciana installed in the Port of Sagunto.

The Emergency Management Platform 4.0 belongs to Red.es‘ 5G pilot project and the demonstration aims to show how 5G communications guarantee connectivity in emergency situations, offering remote and real-time inspection of the area.

ETRA has developed a drone emergency management platform that has the ability to manage and coordinate real-time navigation in emergency situations. The drones record images in 8k by the 3D camera that are sent in real time to a 360º immersive visualization model. Thanks to the use of augmented reality glasses, it is possible to view the captured images in 3D and also to visualize the emergency information.

The use of 5G technology applied to advanced emergency management allows for fast and efficient connectivity in critical situations arising from any type of incident or catastrophe. The drones are equipped with loT sensors to measure the necessary parameters for emergency management. Then, thanks to the connectivity offered by the 5G network, the information is sent with low latency and in real time to the platform to proceed with its management.

This case developed by ETRA is part of the 5G Valencia pilot project of Red.es, within the National 5G Plan and the National Plan for Intelligent Territories. Both plans are promoted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation and co-financed with FEDER funds. This 5G project is managed by the UTE 5G Valencia, which is led by Orange and composed of companies such as Arborea Intellbird, CFZ Cobots, Idrica, Visyon (Mediapro Group), Elewit (REE), Robotnik and ETRA GROUP.

The aim of these national plans is to promote and develop 5G technology and associated techniques, as well as to implement use cases with the involvement of agents to improve the management of emergency situations.
