SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT

The environmental Management system detects weather conditions throughout the road network and acts automatically as required.

Description

Conveying information to motorists in winter regarding driving conditions and road closures, as well as advice such as adjusting speed or following distance, the need for anti-fog lights or snow-chains, contributes to reducing the risk and increasing the safety and comfort of motorists. A well-informed driver is a safe driver.

The environmental management system detects the different meterological variables (including visibility, temperature, humidity, rainfall, wind and ice) and this information is then used to adjust signalling and driver information, along with automatically initiating support teams and systems ( eg, de-icing measures).
