Guadalajara (Mexico) has awarded SITEUR Fare Collection System Concession to GRUPOETRA. This project strengthens GRUPOETRA’s position as a key global player in the field technological solutions for public transport.

SITEUR (Sistema de Tren Eléctrico Urbano, or Electric Urban Train System) Fare Collection System Concession aims at modernizing the transport system of the city of Guadalajara, in the state of Jalisco (Mexico).

The Project has started in January 2017, and the concession will be operating until the end of 2031.

The Project scope includes a Control Centre, a Fare Collection Centre, the Fare Collection System of the train SITEUR (30 stations, 551 entry/exit gates, 60 entry/exit gates adapted to disabled users, 147 VRT machines, etc.) end the feeder buses which will be connected to the train, a total of 70 vehicles, all of them equipped with OBUs, ticket validators and passenger counting sensors.

This Project is expected to be a milestone at an international level. It also means the consolidation of GRUPOETRA’s activities in Mexico, one of the most dynamic markets in the world.
