ETRA successfully pilots 5G technology that enables advanced management in emergency situations

On Thursday, June 23, the demonstration of the “Emergencias 4.0” use case implemented by the ETRA group together with Orange and Huawei took place. The pilot project has been carried out in an Advanced Command Post for the Generalitat Valenciana installed in the Port of Sagunto.

The Emergency Management Platform 4.0 belongs to Red.es‘ 5G pilot project and the demonstration aims to show how 5G communications guarantee connectivity in emergency situations, offering remote and real-time inspection of the area.

ETRA has developed a drone emergency management platform that has the ability to manage and coordinate real-time navigation in emergency situations. The drones record images in 8k by the 3D camera that are sent in real time to a 360º immersive visualization model. Thanks to the use of augmented reality glasses, it is possible to view the captured images in 3D and also to visualize the emergency information.

The use of 5G technology applied to advanced emergency management allows for fast and efficient connectivity in critical situations arising from any type of incident or catastrophe. The drones are equipped with loT sensors to measure the necessary parameters for emergency management. Then, thanks to the connectivity offered by the 5G network, the information is sent with low latency and in real time to the platform to proceed with its management.

This case developed by ETRA is part of the 5G Valencia pilot project of Red.es, within the National 5G Plan and the National Plan for Intelligent Territories. Both plans are promoted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation and co-financed with FEDER funds. This 5G project is managed by the UTE 5G Valencia, which is led by Orange and composed of companies such as Arborea Intellbird, CFZ Cobots, Idrica, Visyon (Mediapro Group), Elewit (REE), Robotnik and ETRA GROUP.

The aim of these national plans is to promote and develop 5G technology and associated techniques, as well as to implement use cases with the involvement of agents to improve the management of emergency situations.

ETRA GROUP attended Global Mobility Call

The Global Mobility Call, the largest convergent platform for all sectors involved in the development of sustainable mobility, was held at IFEMA MADRID from June 14 to 16.

The event, in which ETRA is part of the allied partners, has offered an unprecedented opportunity in the future of a decarbonized, safe, digitized and respectful of the planet and people’s health, aligned with the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), the Paris Agreement and the European Green Pact.

A congress full of speakers

Global Mobility Call has responded to the urgent need to bring together all the actors involved in sustainable mobility at this time of profound change and transformation.

Likewise, the congress has given voice to more than 100 speakers who have offered their point of view and experience on topics as diverse as the transformation of the automotive industry, multimodality and intermodality of air, maritime and land transport, public-private collaboration…

It is worth mentioning the presence of our colleague Antonio Marqués, director of technology and innovation at ETRA I+D, who on June 15 presented different technological proposals for greater citizen participation in the management of the mobility of people and goods.

Leader in sustainable mobility

The congress brought together more than 4,500 attendees in person and 13,000 online, on its Live Connect platform. Users connected from more than 40 countries and, to date, more than 1.5 million views have been registered.

The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, closed the event on June 16 and said that the Forum “is the best example of the capacity for resilience, of the ambition to transform, of the essential collaboration between the public and private sectors”.

ETRA is delighted to be able to participate in events of this caliber, where we can share our knowledge and present our innovative technological solutions in the context of more than interesting presentations and panel discussions. A constant learning that allows us to improve more and more the Sustainable Mobility Ecosystem.

ETRA GROUP is the protagonist at the XXII Spanish Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) held in Madrid

Madrid hosted the 22nd Spanish Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems organised by ITS España. The main theme of the event was the deployment of ITS in the Spanish Government’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, the Spanish strategy that channels the European Union’s Next Generation funds designed to deal in a coordinated manner with the economic and social consequences of the pandemic and build a more sustainable future.

ETRA GROUP, as a leading company in the field of technologies for sustainable mobility and one of the main sponsors of the Congress, had a prominent presence in its programme, delving into the safest, most sustainable and efficient solutions for mobility.

Among the 4 contributions in the form of presentations by ETRA GROUP to the Congress was, on the first day, the one entitled “Tunnels as part of Smartmobility Management”, given by Pedro Rosa Ferrero and Vicente Sebastián. José Manuel Martínez Oliveira, from ETRA GROUP, did the same with his participation in “Evolution of cooperative services towards Cooperative Connected and Automated Mobility (CCAM). Concept of CCAM Urban Corridors”.

The second day of the Congress, on Wednesday the 27th of April, featured the presentation “Implementation of ZBEs with guarantees”, by Juan Francisco Monzón, from ETRA GROUP. Finally, on the third and last day, we attended the speech by Francisco Javier Nuñez-Flores, from ETRA GROUP, which dealt with “Payment solutions in Public Transport”.

Once again, the presence of ETRA GROUP in this Congress allows us to present to the sector the most innovative technological mobility solutions that we propose, as well as interacting with other professionals, companies, universities and public institutions in shared challenges.
